Show Time!

Welcome back to Fan Club HQ everyone!

It's been such a busy - yet very exciting - week, with everything from last-minute rehearsals and BeyoncĂ© warm-ups, to the actual show itself! Having not seen 'The Crazy Sexy Cool Girl Fan Club' for a number of weeks prior to the performance, I was blown away by how amazing it had become. I know it may seem as though I have to say this, but honestly, it was more than fantastic. Seeing the project come to life after having spent so many weeks brainstorming and doing little sketches was the most magical part of all. Each member of the cast did an outstanding job, and clearly loved every second of it -  if you didn't manage to get a ticket, you seriously did miss something pretty special.

To ensure the each and every member of the audience had the ultimate concert experience (after all, it is a show about teenage girls 'fangirling' over a boyband), we even had screaming girls with posters and bouncers on the door - how could we not?!

Although the performances themselves were beyond great, the atmosphere backstage made the whole thing, for me, all the more special. The entire group, both cast and production, have come together, and formed friendships that I am sure will last a very long time. Obviously, the whole thing would not have been possible without our amazing leaders, who have worked around the clock to ensure the project was a huge success. To anyone considering taking part in a program such as this, do not hesitate to say yes for a second longer.

It does sounds as though this is the end of the road for The Fan Club, but lucky for us, it isn't! Rehearsals will kick back in in just over a week, and preparations will continue to be made for the performance at The Lowry, Manchester, at the beginning of May!

Until next time,

Ready For Your Close Up?

Hello again!

It's been a busy couple of weeks for everyone involved in 'The Crazy Sexy Cool Girl Fan Club', what with various costume fittings, set designing sessions and even a big photo shoot - needless to say, we're all enjoying every second of it! Rehearsals are coming along wonderfully - the cast are all settling in seamlessly into their distinctive roles.  I hope that, within the next few weeks, I can give you more sneak peaks from behind the scenes.

The photo shoot took place just over a week ago and was a huge success - every single person involved is over the moon with the results! Massive thanks to Andrew Billington Photography for capturing the most fantastic shots, and hopefully you will be able to see them all very soon.

As the date of the performance gets ever closer, the cast and production team will be working non-stop to make sure that everything is in place and as perfect as humanly possible. In the meantime, feel free to give us a follow on Twitter (@TCSCG_FanClub) for up-to-date info and pics from behind the scenes.

Welcome To The Fan Club!

Hello!

My name is Tilly and I am completing my Silver Arts Award at the New Vic Theatre in Stoke-on-Trent. This is a nation-wide program which takes place at various centres across the UK, and aims to 'deepen young people's engagement with the arts, build creative and leadership skills, and to help them achieve a national qualification' (sounds a bit of  mouthful, but it really is great fun!). http://www.artsaward.org.uk/site/?id=64

As part of the course, I, along with seven others, will be producing and putting on a play called 'The Crazy Sexy Cool Girl Fan Club' by Sarah Solemani, which will be presented at The Lowry, Manchester, in May this year as part of the National Theatre Connections project. If successful, our performers could have the opportunity to present this play at the National Theatre in London! http://connections.nationaltheatre.org.uk/

Each of us have different roles within the team, and so mine is to be in charge of publicity and social media. I will be blogging as much as I can to keep you up to date with all that's going on behind the scenes at 'TCSCG Fan Club', and maybe even giving you some sneak peaks of what's to come.

Until next time,

Tilly
